Many thanks for uploading. I have the same Titanic 1/350 scale and I made it float using US nickels in the bottom and put lights in too. I have 1/600s of the Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth, QE2, Mauretania, and Canberra, along with 1/350 Titanic and 1/400 United States. I'm building a 1/600 and 1/400 QM2, 1/350 Lusitania and 1/400 France. Need to learn to motorise the larger models. Thanks and nice job!

Where did you get that Titanic Model from ?

  • HMTOlympic
I have started building a scale model of the Harland and Wolff shipping yards. So far I have the Titanic, it floats with 3\4 inch nuts. I am almost finsished building the WWI HMT Olympic. I need at least 9 Revell Monogram models to make the tripets ( Titanic, Olympic, and Brittanic) through different time periods and wrecks.

nope, it is not remote controled, there are very little men in the bottom of the ship shoveling smokeless coal into the boilers powering the engines.loljust jokingyes it is remote control

lmao. I love the grandeur of the music and then when it ends....the "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" of the tiny RC motor. So classic.

Very nice work -- she steams well! Are all three props working, or have you just powered the center screw ... or perhaps just the wing propellers?Anyway, nice job.

Its like a baby titanic!, Very cute, lol. It runs very well too! I think they should rebuild the Titanic.
    22 Abril de 2008 - Vlad788 #24
  • WickedFan1994
Eh, I disagree, I think they should make a replica that is for educational purposes, but making a ship to sail and cedit as the Titanic wouldn't be the same..

Wow! That s a stunning model, well done.I think the real Titanic should be left untouched below the Atlantic, and a new Titanic should be built by the Irish again! I heard it could be done as the dock are still there, at a cost of £500 Million.
    22 Abril de 2008 - aslamartnet #29
  • heartofsnow23
they are in fact building a new titanic, at least ive read this in quite a few places...the general jist is that it will be an exact replica of the original with disguised modernizations. The maiden voyage will be from Southampton to New York ( like the first titanic) and its due sometime in 2012....thats what ive read up...id love to go on her...how amazing would that be...
    22 Abril de 2008 - heartofsnow23 #30
  • aslamartnet
Yes I have read many people in Europe and the USA are obsessed with another Titanic! Sad part in all this is that the Irish and the Brits will just pass this historic opportunity goodbye. It would be a shame not to build this wonder of the world again. They could sell tickets for £1 million each to celebs and give the profits to good causes; this would make her the 'Ship of Dreams' again.
    22 Abril de 2008 - aslamartnet #31
  • aslamartnet
This model could be improved by giving it a more professional image. Slow down the motors to make it more realistic, film it in calm waters and usew a professional film maker to film it in a sof lense. Amazing model needs a good bit of footage with close ups of deck etc.

The ship wouldneed extensive alteration in order to comply with current health andsafety regulations, including radar and sonar as well as certain thingsbeing required to be handled by computer (all the fire and safety systems, etc.)

Even though the bolts did give way; it was incredible that they sustained such pressure and stress during the sinking. Ships like this are rare and a treat to build. Even after nearly a century the bolts are still in place!
    22 Abril de 2008 - aslamartnet #35
  • troodon2
sientists did pressure tests with bolts and broke at 716 kilo and titanic bolts where even weaker and sufferd 917 kilo.

  • michaelisbell
Where did you get that model of the Titanic? Also, do you have any idea if there are model replicas of the USS Arizona or any other battleships from the attack on Pearl Harbor available?
    22 Abril de 2008 - michaelisbell #44
  • amazingsinger101
omg I have one like that that. I used to love playing with that when I was in the bath tub when I was little. Mine would always sink after about 5 minutes. I think that was supposed to happen though.

You could try buying modelers plans and scale them down to the size you need and go by that. I am working on two 144th scale Titanic models one of which is going to be used in R/C combat use but will be painted simmilar to the Olympic in WW I as a what if Titanic survived situation.

Is that a converted 18 inch Revel Titanic? If so nice job using such a small hull.
    22 Enero de 2009 - Scioneer #54
  • centroeuropa
I think Revell has a 1/400, i made it one time RC but ist so unstabile that it must go deep under the waterline. This one is 1/350, from Entex or Academy
    22 Enero de 2009 - centroeuropa #55
  • Scioneer
There were 3 by Revell, a 1/1200, a 1/570( two variations), and the 1/400. the 1/570 was the 18 incher and the older instruction book actually suggested it could be R/C converted. I don't know how you could get running gear in a small hull( seemed a bit narrow), but Revell thought you could.
